ELISABETH FINNEY practices labour, employment, administrative and professional regulatory law.

Prior to joining Black Gropper in 2020, she worked in-house for 8 years at several large, public sector unions in British Columbia. While working in-house, she represented the Union at arbitrations, resolved grievances, assisted in collective bargaining, negotiated essential service levels, facilitated union member education workshops, and provided advice and assistance to local stewards. This practical experience informs her law practice, which focuses on concrete solutions to workplace issues.

Elisabeth also has experience in workers’ compensation law and aboriginal law. She has appeared before the BC Provincial Court, the BC Supreme Court, the BC Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court of Appeal.

In her free time, Elisabeth enjoys backcountry camping, cooking and spending time with her family.
